Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions form a legally binding contract between you and ShadiSunnah Ltd. Please read them carefully. By creating an account on ShadiSunnah, you confirm that you have read and understood these Terms and that you agree to be bound by them.

We have written these Terms to be as clear and readable as possible. Where we use legal language, we have explained what it means. If anything is unclear, please contact us at hello@shadisunnah.com before registering.


1. Definitions

Throughout these Terms, the following words have the following meanings:

  • "Platform" means the website, features, and services available at www.shadisunnah.com
  • "We", "Us", "Our" means ShadiSunnah Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales
  • "You" means the person who creates and holds the account (the parent or guardian)
  • "Profile Subject" means the adult son, daughter, or other family member for whom a profile is created
  • "Profile" means the matrimonial profile created on behalf of a Profile Subject
  • "Package" means the access tier selected — Free, Standard, or Premium
  • "Connection Request" means a formal expression of matrimonial interest sent by one family to another
  • "Content" means any text, images, documents, or other material you upload to the Platform
  • "Working Days" means Monday to Friday, excluding UK public holidays

2. Who Can Use ShadiSunnah

2.1 Account Holders

To register an account, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be a parent, guardian, sibling, or close family member of the Profile Subject
  • Be acting genuinely on behalf of your family with the intention of finding a marriage match
  • Have the knowledge and consent of the Profile Subject before creating their profile
  • Provide truthful, accurate, and complete information at registration and throughout your use of the Platform
  • Possess a valid, government-issued identity document (Pakistani CNIC or a valid international passport)

2.2 Profile Subjects

The person for whom a profile is created must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age at the time the profile is created
  • Have given their knowledge and consent for their family to create and manage a profile on their behalf
  • Be genuinely seeking marriage
  • Not currently be married (any previous marriage, divorce, or widowhood must be disclosed accurately on the profile)

2.3 Who Cannot Use the Platform

The following persons are strictly and absolutely prohibited from using ShadiSunnah:

  • Any person under the age of 18
  • Any person who has previously been banned or suspended from the Platform
  • Any person creating a profile for someone without that person's knowledge or consent
  • Any person acting with fraudulent, dishonest, or malicious intent of any kind
  • Any person convicted of fraud, identity theft, deception, or any sexual offence

We reserve the right to verify eligibility at any time and to terminate any account where we have reason to believe eligibility requirements are not met.


3. Registration and Your Account

3.1 Accuracy

Everything you provide during registration — your name, email address, phone number, relationship to the Profile Subject, and identity document — must be accurate and truthful. Any material misrepresentation is a serious breach of these Terms and will result in immediate account termination. Where fraudulent documents are involved, we will report the matter to the relevant law enforcement authorities.

3.2 Account Security

Your account is your responsibility. You must:

  • Choose a strong password that you do not use for any other service
  • Never share your login credentials with any other person
  • Contact us immediately at support@shadisunnah.com if you believe your account has been accessed without your authorisation
  • Log out of your account after each session, particularly on shared or public devices

3.3 One Account Per Family

Each family may hold only one account on ShadiSunnah. Creating additional accounts to get around profile limits, avoid a ban, or for any other reason is strictly prohibited and will result in the permanent termination of all associated accounts.

3.4 Identity Verification

Every account must pass identity verification before any profile becomes publicly visible. We manually review every submitted identity document. We reserve the right to reject documents that appear fraudulent, expired, altered, or unclear. Rejection of a document does not entitle you to a refund where the rejection is due to submission of invalid or fraudulent materials.


4. Profiles

4.1 Content Standards

Everything you put on a profile must be accurate, respectful, and appropriate. Profiles must not contain:

  • False or exaggerated information of any kind
  • Contact information — phone numbers, email addresses, or social media handles — in any text field
  • Sexually suggestive, explicit, or inappropriate images or language
  • Discriminatory, sectarian, racist, or religiously offensive language
  • Photographs of anyone other than the Profile Subject
  • Images taken from other matrimonial websites or social media profiles without permission
  • Commercial advertising of any product or service

4.2 What Other Families Can See

When your profile is approved and your package is active, other verified families on the Platform can see your Profile Subject's name, age, city, religion, education, profession, and profile photographs. Your personal contact information and identity documents are never visible to other families under any circumstances.

4.3 Automatic Profile Suspension

Your profile will automatically become hidden from search results in the following circumstances:

  • You update sensitive fields (such as name, date of birth, or religious information) — the profile will be re-reviewed before going live again
  • Your package expires
  • A report against your profile is upheld and is under investigation

4.4 Number of Profiles

  • Free: 1 profile
  • Standard: up to 3 profiles
  • Premium: up to 5 profiles

5. Packages and Payment

5.1 How Packages Work

ShadiSunnah's packages are one-time purchases, not subscriptions. When you pay, you are purchasing access to the Platform's features for a defined period — typically 14 days for the Free trial and 30 days for Standard and Premium. Nothing is automatically renewed. When your package expires, you choose whether to renew.

5.2 Pricing

Prices are shown in your local currency based on your location at the time of registration (GBP for the United Kingdom, PKR for Pakistan, AED for the UAE, SAR for Saudi Arabia). Prices are displayed inclusive of any applicable taxes.

5.3 Payment Processing

All payments are processed by Stripe Inc. By making a payment, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service, available at stripe.com/legal. ShadiSunnah does not store your full card details.

5.4 Refunds

Our refund policy is set out in our separate Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In summary:

  • Refunds may be issued within 7 days of payment where you have not actively used the Platform
  • Refunds will not be issued after 7 days or where the Platform has been actively used
  • Refunds will not be issued to accounts suspended or terminated for breaching these Terms
  • Technical failure lasting more than 48 hours may entitle you to a pro-rated refund or extension

5.5 Price Changes

We may change our package prices. For existing paid packages, price changes take effect at your next renewal. We will give you at least 30 days' advance notice of any price increase.


6. How You May and May Not Use the Platform

6.1 What You Must Not Do

The following is not permitted under any circumstances:

  • Upload any false, misleading, or fraudulent information
  • Impersonate any person or misrepresent your relationship to a Profile Subject
  • Create a profile for someone without their knowledge and genuine consent
  • Use the Platform for any commercial purpose — advertising, solicitation, or promoting any product or service
  • Share, screenshot, download, or distribute photographs or personal information of other families outside the Platform
  • Attempt to contact other families through channels other than our connection system without their explicit consent
  • Send harassing, threatening, abusive, or repeated unwanted connection requests
  • Attempt to scrape, harvest, or collect data from the Platform using any automated means
  • Introduce any virus, malware, or malicious code to the Platform
  • Attempt to circumvent our security measures, verification process, or IP-based protections
  • Use the Platform in a manner that violates any applicable law in any jurisdiction

6.2 Our Right to Act

We reserve the right to investigate any suspected breach of these Terms. We may, without prior notice and at our sole discretion:

  • Remove any content we deem to be in violation
  • Temporarily or permanently suspend or terminate any account
  • Report any criminal activity to the relevant law enforcement authorities
  • Take legal action for any loss or damage caused to ShadiSunnah Ltd or to other users

7. Connection Requests

Sending a connection request is a formal expression of matrimonial interest. By using this feature:

  • You acknowledge that the receiving family is under no obligation to accept
  • You must not send repeated or harassing requests to the same family
  • Acceptance of a connection request does not constitute any form of binding agreement
  • Any communication following a connection must remain respectful, decent, and in keeping with the spirit of the Platform

8. Our Role and Our Limitations

ShadiSunnah provides a platform that facilitates introductions between Muslim families. We are not a matchmaking agency, a marriage broker, or an intermediary. We:

  • Do not guarantee any specific number of matches, connection requests, or successful introductions
  • Do not verify any information beyond the identity document submitted at registration
  • Are not responsible for the conduct, character, honesty, or personal circumstances of any family on the Platform beyond what is documented
  • Are not responsible for anything that happens between families after they connect through the Platform

We strongly recommend that families conduct thorough independent research and due diligence before making any matrimonial decisions. Always meet with appropriate chaperones in a public setting.


9. Intellectual Property

9.1 Ours

The ShadiSunnah name, logo, platform design, compatibility algorithm, source code, and all content created by us are the exclusive intellectual property of ShadiSunnah Ltd. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of our Platform without our express written permission.

9.2 Yours

You own the content you upload. By uploading it, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and process it solely for the purpose of running the Platform and providing the service to you. We will never sell, license, or commercially exploit your content or photographs.


10. Termination

10.1 By You

You may close your account at any time by contacting support@shadisunnah.com. Your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Closing your account does not entitle you to a refund except in accordance with our Refund Policy.

10.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time where we believe you have breached these Terms, submitted fraudulent documents, behaved abusively towards other users or our staff, or where we are required to do so by law. Termination for cause does not entitle you to any refund.


11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by English law:

  • ShadiSunnah Ltd is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your interactions with other families on or off the Platform
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy of information provided by other families
  • Our total liability to you shall not exceed the total amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding any claim
  • Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute that cannot be resolved through our complaints process shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.


13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will give you at least 14 days' notice of material changes by email. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance.
